Antonio Marshall was born on January 11th, 1980 in a small town called Troy in North Carolina. Antonio grew up with influential entrepreneurs in his life such as his grand father, John Quincy Broadway, and mother Patricia Marshall. John had opened several businesses in the 1950's which led Antonio to idolize his grandfathers ambitions.
Antonio never got the chance to meet his father, Gaston Arthur Shaw, whom was murdered before his birth. Often, Antonio was inspired; by his father’s artistry. One of Antonio's greatest influences to draw was a picture that his father drew. The picture hung upon their dining room wall, and Antonio would say his blessings, eat, and admire his fathers drawing. Upon an old pull down window shade a mural of the last supper was drawn by Gaston Shaw. As a child, Antonio attempted to copy his fathers piece of art on a sheet of printer paper. Antonio's grandmother, Mary Geneva Leake, faithfully critiqued his art. Geneva taught Antonio the importance of staying within the lines of his coloring books and to let the colors flow evenly. Antonio gradually improved his skills as an artist with the help of the Legendary - Bob Ross.
In 1991, Antonio's Grand father passed away and his mother inherited the family business. Antonio would spend the rest of his days drawing and learning real life business practices at the store. Upon the walls of the family business Antonio would hang his award winning drawings onto the walls for others to see. Throughout Antonio's High school years he would win presidential awards along with first and second place for his drawings.
Because Antonio did not recognize a place for artistic talents in his community, Antonio joined the Army National Guard in 1997 as an artilleryman. Still a student in High school, Antonio would complete his last year in Art IV not knowing which way his life would lead him.
Antonio completed his last year of High school in 1998 was sent to Ft. Sill, Oklahoma to complete Basic and AIT with 1/22 Field Artillery. As a young private Antonio would then get tasked out to paint murals upon the drill pads and battalion walls of 1/22 and 1/79th. Antonio would paint everything from company mascots, Artillery rounds, and other military related objects throughout Fort Sill as part of his punishment or extra duties.
Due to Antonio's high ASVAB scores and intellect Antonio decided to become apart of the Military Intelligence Community (Active Duty) the year of 1999. While stationed at Fort Huachuca, Arizona Antonio meet and married Nicole Clark. Somewhere in the early marriage things went wrong and Antonio sought to switch his MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) once more. Antonio was shipped to Fort Jackson, South Carolina where he then became a wheel mechanic. Troubles seemed to have followed Antonio to South Carolina where he was ordered to paint murals on the battalion walls as part of his punishment. Antonio then began to lose his passion for art. Antonio would paint pictures at Charlie company, TSB (Training Support Battalion) and do barrack project renovations before being shipped to Germany.
In the middle of 2000, Antonio was sent to Germany; due to false orders by a platoon sergeant, and divorced his wife Nicole. Despite Antonio being disgruntled with the decision to go to Germany... It became one of the best places he has traveled. During the course of Antonio's three year tour he became injured and put on light duty. Antonio's history carried on with him as an artist and was ordered there to paint Murals in the Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 82nd Engineer Battalion (Warner Barracks) Bamberg, Germany. Antonio's most notable painting was the Pirate in front of the castle, Renegades.
In 2003, Marshall was discharged from the military for a lower back injury and diagnosed with Testicular cancer. Surgery, double doses of Chemotherapy, and prayer helped keep him alive; although, Antonio lost himself mentally. The Veterans Affairs placed Antonio on so many meds that he lost touch with himself and surroundings.
Antonio moved back to Arizona in 2006 and became passionate about photography along with his rekindled love of art. Antonio began to regain control of his life and decided to go back to college. At Pima Community College, Antonio took up graphic design but did not complete his schooling. Depressed with the thoughts of cancer returning, Antonio withdrew from society and battled depression. The economy was still in shambles, but Antonio attempted school again at Brown Mackie as a graphic designer. The biggest question for Antonio was, "Who am I?" Antonio knew deep inside that he was an artist.
In 2010 Antonio moved back Schweinfurt, Germany to find himself. Antonio felt that he needed to pick up where his life ended. In hopes to see his one last painting in Bamberg, Germany; he soon found that the base was closed. Antonio knew that he must continue out greatness and decided to go back to America for a degree.
By the year 2011, Antonio returned to Las Vegas, Nevada; seeking to do fine art when his journey led him into VFX. Antonio attended the Art Institute of Las Vegas and graduated with a Bachelors degree as a Visual Effects and Motion Graphics Artist.
August 2013, Antonio achieved his first taste as a professional with his contributions in the upcoming movie, "Freeze," by the director Gregory Gillaspie.
November 2017, Antonio returned to his home-state of North Carolina to work on his very own Documentary, "Who am I." To this day, Antonio enjoys every aspect as a producer, director, artist, and designer. Antonio has contributed to many projects from Music videos to simple logo designs.
